Issue/Introduction

I have recently installed ACF2 R16 using CA CSM r60. I am now trying to install the CICS component of ACF2 (CX1G03) and it is failing in the apply because of a missing requisite RO89603.

The APPLY of CAX1G03 fails with the following messages...

GIM30209E ** APPLY PROCESSING FAILED FOR SYSMOD CAX1G03. REQUIRED SYSMODS FAILED OR WERE MISSING.
GIM35916I CONDITIONAL REQUISITE SYSMOD RO89603 WAS MISSING. SYSMOD RO89602 CONTAINED THE ++IF STATEMENT.
GIM37001S ** APPLY PROCESSING STOPPED BECAUSE FUNCTION SYSMOD CAX1G03 FAILED.

Any supported CA CSM release

CA ACF2 r16.0

Cause

The problem is occurring because ACF2 BASE PTF RO89602 was installed prior to the attempt to install the CICS component. This PTF contains the following IF-REQ statement.

++IF FMID(CAX1G03) REQ(RO89603 ) .

So as a result, when you attempt to install FMID CAX1G03 SMP/E is expecting RO89603 to satisfy the existing IF-REQ. Obviously RO89603 is not yet present because it belongs to CAX1G03 which is not yet installed. It's a catch-22 situation.

Resolution

The only way to resolve this using CA CSM is to SMP/E RESTORE RO89602. Once this PTF is restored you will be able to successfully install CAX1G03. Afterwards you can go back and install RO89602 and RO89603...and any PTFs that you may want.
