Issue/Introduction

The client's CA Deliver RMOSTC Task abended with S878.

Environment

CA Deliver 12.2

Cause

Leaving buffers allocated eventually will fill up storage and cause 80A, 878, and 40D abends. 

The abends occurred after roughly 80,000 jobs are submitted by the RMOSTC task. 

The buffers are in below-the-line storage and will use up around 8 MB of storage, which is enough to cause the abends.

 

Resolution

CA Deliver 12.2 PTF RO92306 (before publishing, TR92306).

The PTF adds code to the bundle submit process, that frees the buffer pool after a bundle print job was submitted, and the submit file closed.
