VCF CLI Plugins are not getting installed after updating Supervisor Kubernetes Service in VCF 9.1

Issue/Introduction

• Supervisor Kubernetes Service updated to latest version in a VCF 9.1 environment
• Latest VCF Consumption CLI OCI plugin bundle from the Broadcom support site has been installed in harbor 
• Attempting to activate or switch to the Supervisor context via the VCF CLI fails during the automatic plugin synchronization phase:

Environment

• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1
• VCF CLI

Cause

• FDS cache is not getting refreshed correctly 
• Therefore VCF CLI is not able to download the latest plugins from harbor 

Resolution

Will be resolved in a future release of VCF 

Workaround: 

1. Ensure the VCF Consumption CLI OCI plugin bundle is uploaded to Harbor
   •  Installing the VCF CLI in Internet Restricted Environments
2. Delete the plugin inventory local cache
   • rm -rf ~/.cache/vcf/plugin_inventory/default/ 
3. Disable plugin discovery
   • vcf config set features.global.disable-plugin-source-discovery true
4. Reconfigure VCF CLI to pull the plugins 
   • vcf plugin source update default —uri <ip>/vcf/vcf-cli-plugins/ga/plugin-inventory/v9-rel/plugin-inventory:v9.1.1.0
