Costs not updating when importing cost driver configuration file in VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to update cost drivers by exporting the existing configuration and importing an updated file (as per the Import or Export Cost Drivers procedure), the new costs do not reflect in VCF Operations, even though the import reports as successful.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.1.x

Cause

While the import completes successfully, cost values do not update immediately. The changes will only reflect in the UI after the background cost calculation engine has fully completed its next calculation run.

Resolution

Modifications made to Cost Drivers will only appear in the environment once an active cost engine run has finished.

1. Log in to VCF Operations product UI by navigating to https://<VCF_Ops_FQDN>/ui

2. Navigate to Administration → Control Panel → Cost Calculation.

3. Wait for the active cost calculation to complete. The progress can be monitored from the UI itself.
   Note: Completion time depends on the size of the environment.

4. If a calculation is not currently running, trigger one manually by clicking the RUN button.

Note: Ensure that the imported cost driver file uses the exact same template format as the exported file.
