VCF 9.1.1 Offline Depot configuration fails with error, "The offline depot URL should be a valid URL without query parameters or fragments."

Issue/Introduction

The following error is observed in the VCF Installer or VCF Operations UI. 
The offline depot URL https://example-offline-depot.lab specified is invalid. Reason: The offline depot URL should be a valid URL without query parameters or fragments.
Please provide a valid URL without query parameters and fragments.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1.1

Cause

VCF 9.1.1 does not accept non-IANA recognized Top Level Domains (TLD). 

List of IANA recognized domains can be found here. 

Example of some non-IANA recognized TLDs, ".lab", ".local", ".internal"

Resolution

Method 1: Use an FQDN with an IANA-registered TLD If your environment allows, rename the offline depot FQDN to use an IANA-registered TLD (e.g., .com, .net, .org). This is the recommended configuration.

Method 2: Use the IP Address If renaming the FQDN is not feasible, configure the offline depot using the IP address of the offline depot server.
