Issue/Introduction

• License assignment to a selected vCenter in VCF Operations 9.1 fails with the error messages "failed assignments" and "Licenses could not be assigned to the selected vCenter".
  
  
  
• Navigating to VCF Operations UI > Manage > Licensing > Licenses and Registration > Registration Details displays the error message:
  "Unable to connect to VCF Business Services. Check your network connection, and if this message persists, contact support."

Environment

• VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1
• VCF Operations 9.1

Resolution

1. Take a snapshot of all VCF Operations cluster nodes.

2. Log in to the VCF Operations UI as an administrator.

3. Navigate to Integrations.

4. Delete the manually created VMware Cloud Foundation adapter instance(s) associated with the affected workload domain vCenter.

5. Wait for the next automated collector cycle to execute. This allows SDDC Manager to natively redeploy the adapter and establish correct UUID bindings.

6. If SDDC Manager does not natively redeploy the adapter, manually add the SDDC Manager account.

7. Verify the system redeploys the adapter automatically and the vCenter object appears in the inventory without UUID conflicts.

8. Navigate to Licensing and assign the appropriate license to the newly discovered vCenter object.
