Manager Services status displays 'Not configured' for VCF Adapter instance in VMware Cloud Foundation Operations 9.1

Issue/Introduction

In VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Operations 9.1, users may observe that Management Services for a specific VCF instance remain in a "Not configured" state even after a successful deployment.

Symptoms:

• Navigating to Operate > VCF Health shows one or more VCF instances with a Management Services status of Not configured.
• The initial VCF deployment process indicates no errors or failures.
• Secondary management tasks, such as applying password policies or fleet DNS settings, may fail to apply to the affected site.

Cause

When VMSP Adapter was added to VCF Operations, its service was down, preventing integration with VCF Operations and causing "Name or Service Unknown" errors during subsequent OPS-to-VMSP communication attempts.

 

Resolution

To resolve this issue, the VMSP configuration task must be retried to trigger a re-scan and registration of the uninitialized components.

1. Log in to the VCF Operations management interface.
2. Navigate to Control Panel > Management Tasks.
3. Locate the Configure Component option from the list of management actions.
4. Identify the failed or incomplete configuration task associated with the VCF instance/adapter.
5. Select Retry to initiate a re-scan of the Service Registry.
6. Once the task completes, navigate to Operate > VCF Health.
7. Verify that the VCF adapter configuration is now present and the Management Services status is displayed as healthy or configured.
