Workload domain deployment failed during create distributed port group

Issue/Introduction

Getting error when attempting to deploy a workload domain from VCF Operations:

Failed to create portgroup XXXX in vDS on vCenter XXXX

Failed to delete portgoup XXXX in vDS from vCenter XXXX

 

 

Environment

VCF 9.1.0.0

Cause

In the deployment wizard create custom switch configuration was selected and the portgroup was mistakenly given the same name as the VDS. Since vCenter cannot create a portgroup with the same name as the VDS the task was unable to complete, and the clean up task failed because it is unable to find that portgroup on that VDS. 

Resolution

Delete the failed workload domain from VCF Operations.

1. Login to VCF Operations

2. From Operate -> Inventory -> select the failed workload domain and then from the actions drop down select delete domain.
