Issue/Introduction

The Avi Cloud Console incorrectly generates a "license overuse" notification, displaying a 100% "Max Monthly Usage" status (indicated by a solid red bar). This notification occurs because the system evaluates active core consumption (e.g., 1,760 cores) against an assigned allocation baseline of zero cores (e.g., 1,760/0 Cores) for the VMware vDefend Firewall module.(view screenshot)

Environment

Cause

• This behavior occurs when a deployment utilizes the "VMware vDefend Firewall with Advanced Threat Prevention" bundle (SKU: ANS-FW-ATP), but operates only the base Distributed Firewall (DFW) features. Under these conditions, NSX reports consumption exclusively under the base "VMware vDefend Firewall" product family (ANS-VMW-FW).
• Because License Hub does not currently maintain a discrete SKU definition for ANS-VMW-FW, it cannot map active usage back to the primary ATP entitlement bundle to resolve the total core allocation. Consequently, License Hub accurately reflects active core usage but defaults the baseline allocation limit to zero, which falsely triggers a capacity threshold alert.

Resolution

• Impact: None. This is strictly a cosmetic reporting anomaly within the user interface and does not impact product functionality, license enforcement, or feature availability.
• Workaround: No operational workaround exists for affected versions.
• Fix: A permanent fix is scheduled for a future software release (For internal tracking #3770249).
