VCF Operations VCF Operations for Networks

Issue/Introduction

  • The upgrade precheck failed with the following error in the VCF Operations under Fleet Manage Management Console:

  • All other prechecks may complete, except for the system prechecks.

  • The VCF Operations for Networks platform appliance is deployed with an X-Large brick size; consequently, you may encounter the following warning in the VCF Operations for Networks GUI under Settings > Infrastructure and Support.

Environment

VCF Operations for Networks 9.1

VCF 9.1

Cause

The VCF Operations for Networks Platform appliance failed the upgrade precheck because its allocated storage disk capacity did not meet the mandatory system prerequisite requirements for the configured Extra Large (XL) brick size.

Resolution

To resolve this, attach an additional 1 TB storage disk to the VCF Operations for Networks Platform VM to meet the prerequisite disk space requirements for the Extra Large (XL) brick size.

Follow the instructions below to increase the disk space on your existing appliance.

  1. Log in to VMware vCenter using the web client with correct privileges.
  2. Right-click the VM, and click Edit Settings.
  3. Add a disk of required size.

Wait 10–15 minutes for VCF Operations for Networks to detect the disk, then verify that the error has disappeared under Settings > Infrastructure and Support. After that, perform the upgrade prechecks again in VCF, and they should complete successfully this time.
