How to Move Reports that are in an Active OM View Database to New Media using SARPAC.
View, Deliver, 14.0
For a View database, if it becomes necessary to move all active reports to new media, the report movement should ONLY be done using the SARPAC utility.
In STORGRPn=.../.../nnnnn/unit1-primary,unit2-duplex/,... --- Set the unit1 (and optionally unit2 if duplexing is desired) to use the esoteric for the new tape system.
Note: At the next View backup, reports will automatically be written to a new tape on/from the new media.

* SARPAC itself does not delete/free/uncatalog the old tapes. During the next View backup cycle, the tapes from the old media will be expired.
See Run SARPAC in our online View 14.0 documentation for additional details on running the SARPAC utility.
NOTES:
- NEVER run SARTCP with the "COPYASIS" parameter to move archived data to a new media! This utility will NOT accommodate updating the View database with the correct location (fast positioning block-ids) of where the data resides on the new media. As a result, the new media tapes will not be readable, and will cause View utilities that request tape mounts and the EAS task to abend.
- Canceling SARPAC
If you have a tape management system and you cancel SARPAC, it is possible for your tape management system to override the OM View tape retention criteria. We recommend that you always let SARPAC to run to completion. If you must cancel SARPAC, any output tapes it created must be excluded from a scratch and clean run because OM View still controls those tapes. This exclusion applies to primary, duplex, and DR tapes. You can run the SARTCHK utility to determine if any tapes were un-cataloged that are required by OM View.
