VCF Installer Fails With Error "Error while migrating VM"

Issue/Introduction

During the vSphere Cluster Configuration stage of the VCF Installer, a failure occurs with error "Error while migrating VM [<vCenter_VM>, <SDDC_VM>] to Distributed Virtual Portgroup dvportgroup-## Reference Token: ######". 

Environment

VCF 9.x Installer

Cause

Cause is being investigated by VMware Engineering. 

Resolution

Workaround: 

1. If on a fresh deployment, restart your vCenter Server. If not on a fresh deployment, proceed to step 2.
2. Log back into vSphere. 
3. Change the Management Distributed Portgroup from the VCF installer's uplinks on your hosts.
4. Retry the VCF Installer to proceed

 

A permanent resolution to this issue is being investigated by VMware Engineering.
