Discovery Server logs default to a 1 MB size limit in UIM 23.4 CU8

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to DX UIM 23.4 CU8, the discovery_server probe logs do not honor the log size or rollover settings defined in the log4j.xml file. Instead, the log files default to a maximum size of 1 MB regardless of the configuration (e.g., if set to 20 MB, the files will still roll over at 1 MB).

Resolution

The fix for this issue is scheduled to be included in the upcoming UIM 23.4 CU9 release. In the interim, please download the discovery_server 23.4.8.1 hotfix attached to this article for an immediate resolution.

Steps to Apply Patch:

1. Download the discovery_server 23.4.8.1 package attached to this article.
2. Deactivate the discovery_server probe in the UIM Admin Console or Infrastructure Manager.
3. Import the downloaded probe package into the UIM Archive.
4. Deploy the probe package to the Primary hub.
5. Activate the discovery_server probe.
6. Monitor the discovery_server.log directory to verify that log rollover is now functioning according to the values defined in your log4j.xml configuration.
