FAVER VSAM Data Protection for z/OS

Issue/Introduction

Problem:

Executing CA FAVER EXPORT process and receive the following message:

GVDU002E MICOMMON module not found, RC = 8,0008

Resolution:

The GVDU002E message is produced when CA FAVER is expecting CA Extend/DASD to be setup as a companion product and the interface is enabled. In release 4.5 of CA FAVER you should not have the module named GVAXGVD in your CA FAVER load library.

However, if you have installed previous levels of CA FAVER (release 4.3 or 4.2) and then combined your load libraries (many customer do this during upgrade roll outs) then this module may exist.

CA Extend/DASD is no longer a supported CA product so you should remove this load module (GVAXGVD) from your CA FAVER load library wherever it may exist.

Once the module is removed the messages will no longer be issued.
