Issue/Introduction

During the upgrade of SystemEDGE Core, the installer may deploy additional Application Insight Module (AIM) plugins (such as VCAIM, SRM, or Cisco UCS AIM) by default. This results in the agent appearing as a separate package installation rather than an in-place upgrade of the existing component. Follow the procedure below to perform a clean upgrade of the Core component only.

Environment

• SystemEDGE 6.6.0
• Applicable to Windows and Linux platforms

Cause

The default installer configuration includes optional Application Insight Module (AIM) plugins. When these selections remain active during the upgrade wizard, the system installs them as distinct components, creating a separate package entry.

Resolution

1. Launch the SystemEDGE installer on the host system.
2. Select Custom installation when prompted to choose the installation type.
3. Advance through the wizard to the component selection screen.
4. Deselect all optional AIM plugins (e.g., VCAIM, SRM, Cisco UCS AIM) to prevent them from being installed.
5. Verify that only the SystemEDGE Core component is selected for the upgrade.
6. Complete the installation process.
7. Confirm that the SystemEDGE Core service is running and that no unwanted plugin packages have been deployed.

NOTE: SystemEDGE services must be up and running before upgrading to the SystemEDGE 6.6.0 version.
