Issue/Introduction

A security vulnerability was identified in the full-scope-disabled client-policy executor within the Keycloak component of Service Virtualization (DevTest). This component is responsible for enforcing security policies during client registration and configuration.

The issue occurs because the executor only validates the fullScopeAllowed field when it is explicitly provided in a request. By omitting this field, a delegated user can bypass the policy, resulting in a client created with full scope access. This allows the client to obtain tokens with unauthorized role mappings.

Vulnerability Details

  • CVE-ID: CVE-2026-18570
  • CVSS Score: 5.4 (Medium)
  • Product: Service Virtualization (DevTest)
  • Component: Identity and Access Management (IAM) / Keycloak
  • Impact: Potential for unauthorized access and unauthorized role mappings.

Resolution

Broadcom Engineering has addressed this vulnerability by updating the Keycloak library integration. This fix is scheduled for inclusion in the following release:

  • Service Virtualization (DevTest) 10.9.3

Remediation Steps

  1. Plan Upgrade: Schedule an upgrade of your Service Virtualization (DevTest) environment to version 10.9.3 or later once it becomes generally available.
  2. Apply Update: Update the Identity Access Manager (IAM) component to the version provided in the 10.9.3 release.
  3. Verification: Confirm that the IAM component is running the updated version to ensure the vulnerability is mitigated.
