Issue/Introduction

A Nutanix VM is unable to communicate with the vCenter server on port 443. A curl command to the vCenter server results in a RST packet sent by the Nutanix VM.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi

Cause

The vCenter Server Root CA certificate is not installed or trusted within the Nutanix VM's certificate trust store, causing the TLS handshake to fail.

Resolution

Engage Nutanix vendor support to import and trust the vCenter Root CA certificate on the Nutanix VM host environment. This allows the VM to establish a successful TLS handshake.
