The Deploy VCF Management Components workflow may fail if a dependent component (such as the Identity Broker) encounters an FQDN resolution conflict. This causes the SDDC Manager to abandon the deployment task permanently. Even if the underlying network/DNS conflict is later resolved, the workflow will not resume automatically and will remain in a "Failed" state.
IP <IP> (<FQDN>) already in use
UI is missing Salt and Salt-RaaS components and from add components:
An IP/DNS conflict prevents the Identity Broker FQDN from resolving to the correct IP address. This causes the deployment task to fail 16 times, after which the SDDC Manager terminates the entire workflow. Because Salt and Salt-RaaS components exist further down the install sequence, they are never attempted when the Identity Broker step fails, leaving them unconfigured.
Manually re-trigger the failed task in the SDDC Manager tasks interface.
Components deployed:
Once the IP conflict is resolved, the task must be manually re-run, as the SDDC Manager will not automatically retry once the workflow has been abandoned.
