The Reduced Downtime Upgrade (RDU) is not present in vCenter

Issue/Introduction

Using vCenter 8.0u2 or higher

Cannot locate the RDU upgrade tab in vCenter

The lsdoctor tool (using the -l switch) is returning the error: 

"Duplicates Found: Ignore if this is the PSC HA VIP. Otherwise, you must unregister the extra endpoints."

The VDT tool is displays the error:  

[FAIL]  Duplicates Found
You must unregister the extra endpoints. Please run lsdoctor.py -r option 3 on this node for each service type listed

Environment

vCenter 8,0u2 (and above)

 

Cause

The vSphere Client’s Lifecycle Manager (VLCM) plugin relies heavily on the Lookup Service to locate the necessary services to orchestrate the upgrade.

Resolution

Use lsdoctor with the -r option to remove the duplicate endpoints
