Processing log queries and chart filtering in VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

• Users may notice updated interactions when running search queries or modifying chart display settings:

  • Pressing the Enter key no longer automatically initiates a log search.

• Log query behaviors and chart filter controls now follow specific UI execution paths.

Environment

VCF Operations: 9.0.2, 9.1

VCF: 9.0, 9.1

Cause

Changes to log query behavior is expected.

Resolution

Navigate to VCF Operations > Operate > Logs > Analyze Logs

1. Type your search terms into the query field (1).

   Note: Pressing the Enter key does not initiate the search.

2. Click the Magnifying Glass icon (2) or select a Time Window button (e.g., 5M, 1H, 24H) to run the query.

   This action updates both the chart visualization and the log events.

3. Modify settings within the chart panel (e.g., event count, grouping) and click APPLY (3).

   This button updates the chart section only and does not re-query the log events.
