Issue/Introduction

When an alert rule incorporating a dummy metric is triggered, the generated alert or notification displays an incorrect or unexpected entity name instead of the primary monitored entity.

Cause

This behavior is working as designed. In DXO2, the entity name assigned to an alert is resolved dynamically based on the specific metric that satisfies the condition and triggers the alarm.

When an alert rule relies on a dummy metric and that dummy metric evaluates to true, the platform reports the entity context associated with that dummy metric.

Resolution

Behavior in line with design.

Development is evaluating Enhancement Request: Ability to generate alarm when metrics are gone.
