Issue/Introduction

Configured SAML authentication with Okta for VCF Automation 9.1. Authentication failing

Environment

VCF Automation 9.1 

Cause

If user was incorrectly imported and configured in the system as an LDAP user instead of a SAML user the authentication will fail. 

Resolution

Remove the existing LDAP user assignment and explicitly add or import the user as a SAML user in VCF Automation. Ensure that the correct roles are assigned to the new SAML user profile to grant the required visibility. Adding the user explicitly as a SAML user ensures that the Okta SAML identity correctly maps to the VCF Automation user profile.
