Issue/Introduction

When does Compress for IMS for z/OS perform LMP license checking?

Resolution

The license check only occurs when IMS is compressing/expanding segment data. This check is performed only once per database
start (IMS compression routine initialization), so it does not affect CPU processing time for multiple segment calls.

This is the only time that the Compress for IMS tool will perform license checking.
 

Additional Information

A valid LMP key for product 4R (Compress Data Compression for IMS for z/OS) is required.
