Issue/Introduction

After upgrading from vRA 8 to VCFA 9, Azure cloud accounts may stop working. You may encounter the following symptoms:

  • Cloud Account Page Error: When accessing the cloud account page, the following error is displayed: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.net.ProtocolException: unexpected end of stream
  • Validation Error: When attempting to validate the cloud account, the following error is displayed: Unable to validate the provided access credentials

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1

Cause

This issue occurs because the proxy configuration is not retained during the migration process from vRA 8 to VCFA 9. As a result, the necessary proxy settings required for communication with Azure are missing, which prevents the system from validating access credentials and establishing a connection.

Resolution

To resolve this issue follow the Scripted process to configure a proxy on VCF Management Services and VCF Automation

A fix will be included in a future version of VCF Automation 9.x which will prevent the issue.
