This Alarm will be raised when messaging communication channel is down between messaging-manager and local appliance proxy hub in NSX Manager node.
Messaging-manager service is 'down': Navigate to System>Appliances and click View Details for one of the NSX Manager nodes.
Cluster is reporting as degraded :
Check if the messaging-manager service is running via CLI:
get cluster statusMessaging-Manager service group would show DEGRADED for the cluster, and DOWN for the affected NSX Manager.run the command: get service messaging-manager
applianceproxy service by command: get service applianceproxyVMware NSX 4.x
This is most likely due to the messaging-manager and applianceproxy service being down on the specific node.
Following steps can be executed for resolution:
From root access to impacted NSX manager:
1. Restart messaging manager /etc/init.d/messaging-manager restart.
2. Restart local appliance proxy hub daemon with running command /etc/init.d/nsx-applianceproxy restart.
From admin access to impacted NSX manager:
1. Restart messaging manager restart service messaging-manager
2. Restart local appliance proxy hub daemon with running command restart service applianceproxy
