Unable to create local user accounts due to SMTP configuration in VMware Aria Operations for Logs

Issue/Introduction

When creating a new user under VMware Operations for Logs > Access Control > Users, the newly generated user account gets stuck in a "Pending" state and does not complete setup.

 This issue typically occurs when SMTP is blocked in the environment, preventing the automated registration email from being delivered.

Environment

 Aria Operations For logs 8.18.x

Cause

The system requires SMTP connectivity to send a registration email to complete the user account setup process. If the environment blocks SMTP communication, the user account status remains stuck in "Pending."

Resolution

To  bypass the email delivery requirement, create the user account directly via the API:

1. Use the API endpoint to create the user directly.
