Issue/Introduction

• Several  VMs on multiple datastores are offline/hung
  
  
• Datastores are inaccessible in the vSphere client 
  
  
• LUNs backing datastores are thin-provisioned 

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi  (all versions)

Cause

Multiple LUN snapshots used up space on the storage array. As a result multiple thin provisioned LUNs ran out of space. 

Resolution

Delete unneeded LUN snapshots from the storage array.
