Issue/Introduction

This article clarifies whether the local "admin" account in VCF Operations is subject to password expiration. It also explains the impact of configuring the password expiration policy on the primary admin account.

VMware Cloud Foundation Operations 9.1

Resolution

The local "admin" account password in VCF Operations does not expire.

As of VCF Operations version 9.1, regardless of the password expiration policies configured within the product UI under Administration > Global Settings > User Access, the built-in local "admin" account is exempt and will not expire.

The password expiration settings configured in this section apply exclusively to non-admin local accounts.
