Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• You may see this error on SRM UI: Unable to retrieve site pairs from extension server.
• Error message: "Unable to retrieve pairs from extension server at ####"
• Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) information may appear blank on the VLR appliance VAMI page.

         

• You may see Ping failures for backend storage arrays as shown below: Last ping failed Storage adapter with UUID: ####

       

 

Environment

VMware Live Recovery 9.0.5

Cause

After the convergence of the VMware Live Recovery appliance, existing SRA adapters are not automatically migrated. This omission results in blank SRA configuration settings, preventing the appliance from communicating with backend storage arrays and causing site pairing retrieval failures.

Resolution

1. Obtain the required SRA file specific to the storage environment.
2. Log in to the VLR portal.
3. Upload the SRA file via the VLR portal.
4. Perform a rescan of the storage adapters on the VLR appliance VAMI page (typically port 5480).
5. Navigate to the VMware Live Site Recovery UI.
6. Re-enter the storage array credentials.
7. Verify that SRA information is correctly populated in the VLR appliance VAMI page.
8. Perform ping tests from the VLR appliance to the storage arrays to confirm connectivity.

Additional Information

NOTE: Ensure timestamps on all related VLR, vCenter, and VR nodes are synchronized within 5 seconds to prevent certificate or communication timeouts. Refer to the "Converge to the VMware Live Recovery Appliance" guide for full prerequisite details.
