Issue/Introduction

  • VMs protected by vLCR
  • Datastore were the VMs reside crashed due to corruption and the datastore can't be recovered.
  • Only specific individual VMs need to be recovered from the Protection Group.

Environment

VMware vLCR (All Versions)

Resolution

  1. Remove the failed VMs from vCenter inventory
  2. Delete the existing failed datastore from vCenter 
  3. Create a new datastore with same name
  4. Restore the VM from the Protection Group snapshot
