Issue/Introduction

Customers using the "Automatic" SLA estimation method may observe that AAI flags jobstreams as having exceeded their deadline almost immediately after a run starts, even if the run completes successfully and on schedule. These alerts may include "Exceeded Deadline," or "Predicted Late,".

Environment

Product: Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI)

Cause

This behavior occurs due to a calculation limitation within the automatic SLA estimation algorithm. When a jobstream is configured to use the automatic SLA method (the system default), AAI estimates the deadline based on historical averages.

Resolution

Workaround: To resolve this behavior, reconfigure the affected jobstreams to use a deterministic, day-based deadline method instead of the automatic estimation method.

  1. Log in to the AAI console.
  2. Navigate to the jobstream configuration and open the Deadlines & Rules tab.
  3. In the SLA section, select Advanced Options.
  4. Check the box for "Override automatic jobstream run association."
  5. Set "Jobstream Completes" to an explicit value (e.g., "1 calendar day(s) after jobstream starts").
  6. Click Done and save the configuration.

This forces the AAI calculation engine to use the deterministic path, which correctly applies the "never before start" safety guard and prevents the false alerts.

Resolution: This issue has been identified and is scheduled for a permanent fix in AAI release 26.0.
