Issue/Introduction

When attempting to upgrade Privileged Access Manager (PAM) version 4.3.0 on Azure to PAM 4.3.1, the upgrade process fails to complete, often stopping at the serial console during the boot or staging phase. This issue has been identified as a product defect (DE686103) specific to the Azure environment and PAM 4.3.0.

Cause

Detected a problem that prevents the upgrade process from completing successfully on Azure infrastructure.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in release PAM 4.3.2 and higher.

  1. Upgrade the PAM appliance directly to version 4.3.2.
  2. Verify the upgrade completion by checking the PAM GUI after the appliance reboot.
