The Performance Management Vertica repository backup fails with an invalid cross-device link error when attempting to create the manifest file

Issue/Introduction

The Vertica manifest creation failing with following error:

localhost vbr Error: Error accessing remote storage: failed accessing remote storage on <IP ADDRESS>: rsync: change_dir#1 "/opt/vertica/" (in vbr) failed: Invalid cross-device link (18)
  rsync error: errors selecting input/output files, dirs (code 3) at main.c(618) [Receiver=3.1.3]
  : returncode=None
  Init FAILED.

Cause

Mount Point issue:  Backup not able to traverse to correct destination folder

Resolution

FIX SYMBOLIC LINK

Work with the system administrator to correct the symbolic link mapping or change backup scripts to use exact path instead of using symbolic link
