Error 'Authentication required' when pairing On Premise and Cloud

Issue/Introduction

• Pairing an on-premises with Cloud Director Availability (VCDA) side fails during the final configuration step. The process stops after clicking FINISH with error "Authentication required'.
• NO DNAT rule created.

Environment

VMware Cloud Availability 4.7.5

Cause

The Public Service Endpoint address incorrectly points to the Cloud Service port (443) instead of the Tunnel port (8048) in environments without a DNAT rule.

Resolution

To resolve the issue execute the following steps:

1. From the VCDA Management UI, select Settings
2. Edit the Public Service Endpoint, and change it from <CLOUD_SERVICE_URL>:443 to <TUNNEL_SERVICE_URL>:8048.
3. Make sure that no pairing is present on the VCDA Management UI side
4. Execute a new Pairing from the Onpremise side
5. On the pairing wizard, Cloud Service Details > Public Service Endpoint use the <TUNNEL_SERVICE_URL>:8048 to make sure that it is not used the <CLOUD_SERVICE_URL>.
