Issue/Introduction

You need to exclude specific alarms or events from displaying in the events reports to reduce noise or focus on specific notification types.

All supported Watch4net|M&R releases

Resolution

ou can exclude unwanted alarms by applying filters directly to the report configuration. This process is identical to the method used for metric-based reports.

To apply these filters, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the M&R Frontend and open the specific events report you wish to modify.
2. Enter Edit Mode for the report.
3. Locate the Filter section within the report settings.
4. Add a new filter criteria based on the attributes you wish to exclude (such as EventName, Device, or Severity).
5. Use the appropriate operators to ensure the specified alarms are omitted from the report view.
6. Save the report configuration.

The report now displays only the events that meet your defined criteria.

Additional Information

 Note that M&R handles Smarts events differently than the Smarts SAM console. While Smarts maintains a single instance for an active notification, M&R creates a new row in the events_live table each time a notification is cleared and re-notified. Applying these filters helps manage the visibility of these recurring instances.
