MCS processes device profiles are not syncing to UIM robots

Issue/Introduction

In DX Unified Infrastructure Management (UIM) environments, device-level MCS processes profiles may fail to synchronize with target robots.

• The profiles appear as "Active" in the Operator Console (OC).
• Changes are not reflected in the probe configuration on the robot.
• The plugin_metric.cfg on the robot does not contain the expected monitoring entries.
• This typically affects profiles created before UIM version 23.4

Environment

• DX Unified Infrastructure Management 23.4 CU1 and later
• processes_mcs_templates 4.70.1 or similar.
• mon_config_service (MCS) probe

Resolution

To resolve this synchronization gap, you must force MCS to recognize a change in the profile, which triggers a manual resync.

1. Log in to the Operator Console (OC).
2. Navigate to Inventory and select the affected robot.
3. Go to the Monitoring Configuration tab.
4. Locate the Processes profile that is failing to sync.
5. Open the profile and modify the Description field (e.g., add a space or a small text update).
6. Click Save.
7. Wait for 5–10 minutes for the sync process to complete.
8. Validation:

• Verify the sync status in the OC Monitoring Configuration tab.
• Launch Infrastructure Manager (IM) and select the controller probe on the target robot.
• Press Ctrl + B to launch and view the plugin_metric.cfg file.
• Confirm that the file now contains the updated configuration entries for the processes profile.
