Collector Adapter not receiving data from Identity Broker Endpoint Instance in VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

• Infrastructure Management adapter instance fails to collect IDB metrics via the Cloud Proxy (CP).
• Adapter logs (/storage/vcops/logs/adapters/VMwareInfraHealthAdapter/VMwareInfraHealthAdapter_##.log) report the error:

  •  host is not configured with NTP servers.

• NTP configuration is verified as active on the host via ntpq -p.
• IDB instance metric (IDB instance > Metrics > VCF Operations Generated > Availability) shows -1 where 1 is expected.

Cause

The Infrastructure Health adapter instance state in inventory management becomes desynchronized or stuck, causing it to incorrectly report NTP configuration failures despite proper underlying host NTP configuration.

Resolution

1. Log into VCF Operations > Administration > Configurations > Inventory Management page.
2. Locate the affected IDB instance with adapter type Infrastructure Management.
3. Click Start Maintenance to place the instance into Maintenance Mode.
4. Click End Maintenance for the instance to force a state re-initialization.
5. Confirm metric (VCF Operations Generated | Availability) collection resumes and inspect CP logs.
