Issue/Introduction

  • NSX Manager UI reports "Manager Disk Usage High".
  • High write latency (e.g., 250 MB/s) observed on a specific NSX Manager node.
  • Storage latency alarms in vCenter or Aria Operations for the management datastore.
  • Asymmetric I/O load across the NSX Manager cluster nodes.

Environment

  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 5.x / 9.x
  • VMware NSX 4.x / 9.x

Cause

This issue occurs when Aria Operations data collection for the NSX Management Pack is enabled or configured with aggressive collection intervals, causing high I/O throughput and disk latency on the target NSX Manager node.

Resolution

For immediate Workaround, verify and adjust the data collection settings:

  1. Log in to the Aria Operations UI.
  2. Navigate to Data Sources > Integrations.
  3. Select the VMware NSX integration.
  4. Locate the specific NSX Manager node exhibiting high latency.
  5. Disable data collection for that node
