Issue/Introduction

A connection failure in the CAACPROC started task leads to a high frequency of retry attempts. These failures eventually result in recursive S878 abends and a task hang, requiring the operator to FORCE the STC. This typically occurs when attempting to create alerts in WatchTower.

Cause

A mismatch between the certificate label/keyring defined in the AT-TLS policy and the actual security software (ACF2/TSS/RACF) configuration.

Resolution

Verify the AT-TLS and Security Configuration:

1. Check the certificate label exists and is connected to the correct keyring for the STC user ID.
2. Confirm that the certificate and its signing chain (CERTAUTH) are not expired.
3. Ensure the keyring and label names in the AT-TLS policy match the security database exactly; these fields are case-sensitive.
