Issue/Introduction

NPC Webpage is not opening properly after install. Images are not being rendered.

Environment

NPC 6.1/6.2Windows 2008 R2

Cause

This issue is because the pre-requisites are not installed properly.

You need to install IIS features from Roles/Features.

Resolution

Install IIS, ASP, COM+, and SNMP

 

Install the following required components on a stand-alone server or NFA console server:

  • IIS
  • ASP
  • IIS 6 Management Compatibility
  • COM+ Network Access
  • SNMP

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in as a user who has administrator privileges for CA Network Flow Analysis.
  2. Open Server Manager.
  3. In the Dashboard, select Add roles and features.
    If the Before you begin page displays, click Next
  4. In the Select installation type page, select Role-based or feature-based installation.
    Click Next
  5. In the Select destination server page, select Select a server from the server pool. Select the appropriate server from the Server Pool list, then click Next.
  6. In the Select server roles page, select Application Server. Click Next.
  7. In the Select features page:
    1. Expand .NET Framework 3.5 Features.
      1. Select .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0), if not already checked.
      2. Select HTTP Activation, if not already checked.
        Click Add Features when prompted.
      3. Select Non-HTTP Activation, if not already checked.
    2. Select SNMP Service.
      Select Include management tools (if applicable), if not already checked.
      Click Add Features when prompted.
    3. Expand User Interfaces and Infrastructure.
      1. Select Desktop Experience.
        Click Add Features when prompted.
    4. Click Next.
  8. In the Application Server page, click Next.
  9. In the Select role services page:
    1. Select COM+ Network Access.
    2. Select Web Server (IIS) Support.
      Click Add Features when prompted. 
    3. Click Next.
  10. In the Web Server Role (IIS) page, click Next.
  11. In the Select role services page:
    1. Select ASP.NET 3.5 (in the Application Development section).
    2. Select ASP (in the Application Development section).
    3. Select IIS 6 Management Compatibility (in the Management Tools section).
    4. Click Next.
  12. The Confirm installation selections page summarizes your actions and displays related messages.
    If you are prompted to specify an alternate source path, click Specify an alternate source path.
    1. Specify the path to the SxS Sources on the Windows Install CD, then click OK.
  13. Install the role services and options you selected:
    1. Click Install.
      The Results page opens when the installation or upgrade is complete.
    2. (Optional) Click Print, e-mail, or save the installation/upgrade report,review the information, then close the page.
    3. Click Restart Server.
