Datastore remains in vSphere Client inventory after deletion

Issue/Introduction
- After a datastore deletion task completes successfully in the vSphere Client, the datastore remains visible in the inventory.
- The [Hosts] tab of the affected datastore displays ESXi hosts in maintenance mode.
Environment
VMware vSphere 8.0
Cause
When deleting a datastore, ESXi hosts in maintenance mode do not automatically rescan VMFS datastores. Therefore, the changes are not reflected.
Resolution
Manually rescan the VMFS datastores.
- In the vSphere Client, right-click the datastore > [Rescan Storage] > select the [Scan for new VMFS Volumes] checkbox, and click [OK].
