Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • A discrepancy exists in the number of alarms reported in Spectrum OneClick versus DX O2/DOI.
  • The Spectrum Data Publisher (SPD) logs report an incorrect, typically lower, "Total Alarm Count" metric (e.g., [AlarmDataReconciler] [processAlarmMetricData] - Total Alarm Count is: [value]).
  • Restarting the Spectrum Data Publisher (SPD) service temporarily resolves the issue and resets the alarm count to the correct value.

Environment

  • Spectrum versions prior to 25.4.7.
  • Integrations using Spectrum Data Publisher (SPD) with DX Operational Observability (DX O2) or DX Operational Intelligence (DOI).

Cause

This issue is caused by a logic defect  in the AlarmDataReconciler component of the Spectrum Data Publisher. The reconciliation logic incorrectly processes delete notifications—including those for filtered alarms or duplicate events—by subtracting them from the total alarm count metric. This results in a cumulative drift over time where the reported count in SPD becomes lower than the actual number of alarms in Spectrum.

Resolution

Upgrade the Spectrum Data Publisher (SPD) to version 25.4.7 or higher (e.g., 25.4.8). These versions contain the permanent code fix for the alarm reconciliation logic.
