Issue/Introduction

  • Selecting an ungrouped collector (cloud proxy) allows the adapter configuration to save successfully but fails when using the default collector group.
  • The VCF Ops Admin UI shows at least one data node in a Waiting for Analytics status.

Environment

VCF Ops: 9.1

VCF: 9.1

Cause

An underlying VCF Operations data node is stuck in waiting for analytics status, creating an improper cluster state that disrupts task processing and communications across the default collector group.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the VCF Ops Admin UI:

    https://<vcf-ops-node-fqdn>/admin

  2. Go to System Status. and confirm all nodes are in an Online status.

  3. If any nodes are in a Waiting for Analytics status, restart the cluster to re-initialize the services:

    1. Click TAKE CLUSTER OFFLINE.

    2. Wait for the cluster to bring all services offline completely.

    3. Click BRING CLUSTER ONLINE.

  4. Confirm that all cluster data nodes return to an Online status.

  5. Navigate back to the VCF Ops UI and go to Operate > Administration > Integrations.

  6. Save the new vCenter adapter instance using the default collector group.
