Issue/Introduction

This article provides guidance on supported deployment architectures, operating system requirements, and repository database compatibility for CA Test Data Manager (TDM).

Resolution

Supported Deployment Architecture (Linux)

TDM cannot be installed as a standalone application on Linux operating systems. Linux deployments are only supported via containerized environments, specifically:

• Docker
• Kubernetes

Repository Database Compatibility (TDM 5.0+)

TDM requires a dedicated repository database to store product metadata. The following database versions are supported:

• Microsoft SQL Server: 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 (Express editions supported; 2012 and 2014 are not supported).
• Oracle: 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, 21c, 23c (RAC is supported for Datamaker only).
• Azure SQL Server: Supported for both Datamaker and Portal.

Support Lifecycle Notice

If you are running TDM version 4.9 or older, please note that these versions have reached End of Support (effective March 31, 2025). We strongly recommend planning an upgrade to TDM 5.0 to maintain supportability, security updates, and compatibility with current infrastructure.
