Issue/Introduction

This article clarifies whether concurrent virtual machine (VM) snapshot operations (creation and deletion) can be limited per VM or across vCenter Server.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0

 

Resolution

No configuration option exists in vCenter Server to limit total concurrent snapshot operations across the system. Manage concurrency limits within external calling applications (e.g., backup software).
