Unable to edit existing HCX Mobility Group After remote site vSphere SSO Password Rotation

Issue/Introduction

This article addresses an issue in VMware HCX 4.11.x where users are unable to edit existing mobility groups or create new ones. When attempting to perform these actions, the HCX UI displays a persistent loading screen at "Loading source site inventory".

Local HCX user credentials are up-to-date and vCenter credential for source site is correct as well. 

Environment

VMware HCX 4.11.x

Cause

The root cause is an authentication mismatch within the site pairing configuration. When the credential used for site pairing is changed on the destination site, the HCX Site Pairing configuration become outdated. The HCX UI may still show the site pair as "Connected".

This mismatch prevents the HCX Manager from authenticating correctly with the remote site to retrieve the necessary inventory and resource data, resulting in the "loading" state.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, the site pairing credentials must be updated or re-entered in the HCX Manager to match the current password of the destination site's SSO administrator.
