Issue/Introduction

You may run into a problem with CDM probe after updating Solaris system to the latest O/S patches

This is an example of defunct processes spawned.
[root@xxxxxxx]# ps -ef | grep cdm

Environment

  • CDM 6.30
  • UIM 9.0 and earlier
  • Sun Solaris

 

Resolution

If you run into this issue follow the 4-step process below:

1. Deactivate the probe
2. Kill all defunct processes
3. Change “mem_buffer_used” key to yes (via raw configure in the setup section)
4. Click Apply/Ok
5. Activate the probe if necessary as a config change will normally restart the probe

Raw configure is accessed by highlighting the probe and right-clicking
