Issue/Introduction

After initial deployment, the administrator is unable to log in to the VMware Cloud Foundation interface using the [email protected] account. This issue typically stems from incorrect password storage or synchronization failures during the deployment process.

Environment

(VCF) 9.x

Cause

The [email protected] password stored in the SDDC Manager or associated authentication service may be invalid, expired, or failed to propagate correctly during deployment.

Resolution

  1. Verify if the "User not authorized" error message is present in the UI.
  2. If invalid credentials are suspected, reset the admin@local (or [email protected]) password using the standard SDDC Manager reset procedure.
  3. Refer to How to Reset the Admin@local password in SDDC Manager for detailed CLI-based reset instructions.
  4. If the issue persists after a password reset, collect logs from the SDDC Manager and contact Broadcom Support for further identity source validation.
