HCX OSAM Migration validation fails with insufficient privileges error "No privileges could be fetched for object"

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to validate a mobility group for HCX OSAM migration, the validation failed with the following error. 

"The user has insufficient privileges on ####. Missing privilege: ["No privileges could be fetched for object."]".

Environment

VMware HCX

Cause

The vCenter user account or group mapped to the HCX user role lacks the necessary permissions at the global permission level or specific resource level in vCenter to manage the network objects mapped to the migration.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, assign the Administrator role to the HCX user group in vCenter:

1. Identify the user group utilized for HCX/vCenter interaction.
2. In vCenter Server, navigate to the specific resource or folder level where the network object resides.
3. Grant the required tenant permissions to the HCX user group to manage these resources.
4. Verify that these permissions allow the user group to interact with the target network objects.
5. Re-run the HCX migration validation task.
