Issue/Introduction

PowerCLI module failed to load preventing the execution of the script documented in KB Counting Cores for VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere Foundation and TiBs for vSAN

The specified module 'VMware.PowerCLI' was not loaded because no valid module file was found in any module directory.

Cause

The PowerCLI module was incorrectly extracted to the user-specific directory (C:\Users\User\Documents\Powershell\Module), which prevented the system from recognizing and loading the module.

Resolution

To resolve this issue and successfully load the PowerCLI module, follow these steps:

• Correct Module Location: Move the extracted PowerShell module to the appropriate system directory: 'C:\Program Files\Powershell\Modules'.
